This patch removed the amount of characters you could have, basically, allowing an unlimited amount of characters for your M.U.G.E.N. In 2002 (I believe this is true), a hacked M.U.G.E.N appeared on the scene for Windows, which is known as No Limit Winmugen Patch. No Macintosh port exists as of yet, but there are methods on running Windows M.U.G.E.N on a Mac. M.U.G.E.N started out on the old DOS platforms, now, M.U.G.E.N can be found on Windows and Linux. I can guess there's over 2000 characters out there, or possibly more! The amount of characters that have been made for M.U.G.E.N is simply HUGE.

We had a quick play and can confirm this works a treat, and you really should try the v1.0 characters, anything newer seems to flip you back to the login screen, its important to remember this is AN OLD DOS BETA VERSION, not the LAST PC based M.U.G.E.N ( found here) – or – catch the original website (from 2015) on WBM here
Just drop the whole unzipped folder “mugen” in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pc and launch it by clicking on mugen (mine said mugen beta so I could tell what I was testing). I have tested this l, and it loads on both the pi and Android (magic dosbox). The only thing I changed was adding the extra.exe file (cwsdpmi.exe) to make it run in dosbox.
